This Privacy Policy describes how Pigeon Dispatch ("we," "us," or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Pigeon Dispatch mobile application. We built Pigeon Dispatch to be a fun way to message friends, not a way to harvest your data, and this policy reflects that.
Account information. When you use the App, we collect the name and phone number you provide to identify you to your contacts.
Contacts. If you choose to import contacts, we access the names and phone numbers of the contacts you select so you can send them dispatches. Contact access is optional and only occurs with your permission through iOS. You can also add contacts manually.
Messages. We store the content of the dispatches you send and receive so they can be delivered and displayed in your conversation threads.
Location. The App uses your approximate location to calculate flight paths, distances, and arrival times for your dispatches, and to record the states and countries in your Passport. Location access is requested through iOS and used only for these features.
Usage data. We may collect basic usage information, such as dispatch counts, miles flown, and feature usage, to operate features like ranks and the Passport and to improve the App.
We share information only in these limited circumstances:
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support.pigeondispatch@gmail.com from the account you wish to delete. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request, except where retention is required by law.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Pigeon Dispatch is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws can exercise these rights by emailing us at the address below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Pigeon Dispatch is available worldwide. Your information may be processed and stored in the United States. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to a country with different data protection laws than your own.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
